Subversive Equity is a new business with justice built into our business model from start to finish.
We believe that the real estate marketplace, from investors, management, and the entire ecosystem, can be a place that brings a fair return to the business while enabling a new generation of people to build equity, obtain security (financial as well as a stable home without the fear of rising prices or being priced out), and equality.

Our Model.
To build a justice oriented pool of investors (from small investments of $25-100 a month to large investors) who seek out apartment complexes to purchase that meet our criteria. Once purchased, tenants are made the offer to become homeowners through the condo’ificiation of the property as "starter homes” to begin the equity building process. They become homeowners, immediately begin building wealth, either through a rent-to-own contract or obtaining a mortgage from the marketplace. Subversive Equity manages the complex, invests returns on the purchase price of each unit towards the next property, while returning cash to shareholders..

Our team is given permission to dream of a better way. We sit at the crossroads of social justice - the wellbeing of people and our communities - and business. Then, instead of figuring out all the reasons why something can’t or won’t work, we spend our efforts finding a way. If the goal is worth it, we will not stop.
Housing has been an instrument of injustice for too long. While our model might evolve along the way, we believe we have found a way for all parties to come out ahead.
